Bustier gift box

Hello, fellow crafters

Recently, I have become aware of so many people suffering in different ways – physical, mentally, emotionally, and financially.

The Just breathe collection offers a myriad ways in which we can use our crafting skills to show caring, to encourage, to do self-discovery and record our journeys.

This gift box was created for a friend. I used a bought SVG cut file from Cre8ive Cuts but enlarged it considerably. The completed gift box is about the size of a small gift bag – standing 20 cm tall and being 16 cm wide at the narrowest part, and 7cm deep from front-to-back. It can, therefore, take some lovely treats.

I used Fabscraps paper rose packs to make pretty shabby flowers to embellish the gift box.

For This Project You Will Need:

·        Fabscraps C137 Just breathe papers

·        Fabscraps paper rose packs

·        Ink pads and daubers to add colour to some of the petals of the paper roses

·        Fabscraps white craft glue

·        Cut file for the pattern (can be cut out with electronic machine or by hand)

·        Stamens for some of the flowers

·        Ribbon

·        Lace

Instructions:

1.      Cut out the pattern and assemble the bustier.

2.      Make shabby flowers as follows:

                           i.          Use 3 flowers of the same size for each completed flower. The cream and soft grey flowers are a perfect match for the Just breather paper collection. You can also use the soft blush ones. I made different sizes of flowers.

ii.          Use daubers and matching ink pads to add soft colours to some of the petals of the flowers.

iii.          Lightly spritz the punched-out flowers with water.  Fold them in half and then fold concertina-like from left to right. Crumple up tightly on the concertina folds. Open them and then glue 3 layers together on a small circle of cardstock. Add stamens to the larger flowers.

3.      Embellish the bustier gift box with lace and handmade flowers.

Thank you for visiting.

Happy crafting, until next time.

  1. Whoever was the recipient of this would have had a double treat - the bustier itself, and whatever lovely goodness was inside it <3
