Thank you with dainty vellum flowers

These pretty pink petunias are perfect to say "Thank you", "I am thinking of you", "Happy birthday" or "Hoping you feel better soon". I made this card to say thank you to someone for a special treat.

The steps below explain how to make the vellum flowers for the card. While I was busy with them, I also made some in clear acetate - heat embossed but not coloured.

Heat emboss several small and large classic petunias with Versamark ink and superfine white embossing powder onto heavy vellum paper.

Colour the vellum flowers at the back with Ranger archival ink vibrant fuchsia and a dauber.

Use a deep green ink such as Artistry green garland to colour the leaf sets.
Cut out the flowers and leaves using the co-ordinating dies.

Pinch the petals of all the flowers on the middle line of each petal to shape. The photo shows both vellum and acetate flowers.

Layer two flowers of the same size onto each other. I found that a hot glue gun works best for the acetate. Finish the flowers with a crystal-like centre.

Die-cut the square element and the sentiment from the butterfly kisses die set in white cardstock.

Assemble the card by gluing the square element onto the printed paper. arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves. Add the sentiment and the dew drops last.

I hope you like the card and taht you will take a few seconds to leave me a comment.

Have a great day

Whimsical vellum and acetate flowers with fluttering butterfly

Whimsical vellum and acetate flowers and a fluttering butterfly were the perfect embellishments for this dreamy photo of a pretty girl.

All embellishments on this layout were made usng Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies.
First, make the flowers by heat embossing several small and large classic petunias with Versamark ink and superfine white embossing powder onto heavy vellum and heat-resistant acetate.

Layer two flowers of the same size onto each other. I found that a hot glue gun works best for the acetate. Finish the flowers with a crystal-like centre.

Heat emboss one of the fluttering butterflies and cut out with the co-ordinating die.
Use the butterfly kisses die to cut out the round element. Die cit one of the regal pocket accents.
Cut out a tag from the classic petunia paper pack.
Mat the photo on white and on a green paper from the petunia paper pack. Some craft foam was used to lift the picture adhered to the white cardstock for a bit of dimension.

Spring blossoms, leaves and birds

Layout using two Lemoncraft Yesterday papers.

The leaves were fussy cut from a page from the Spring Blossoms paper pack.

I used gold and bronze embossing powder on some Room 5 twig chippies and added leaves fussy-cut from some Lemoncraft leaves paper then added flowers I made (using flower-making paper, five-petal flower die and groove tools), some twigs, sisal and moss.

To record the timeframe when the picture was taken, I used Altenew bold alpha lowercase letter dies.  A small tag shows the names of the two children.

Yesterday with leafy accents

The "Yesterday" paper was the perfect background for this old sepia photo of a bride.

I wanted to emphasise days gone long by with a clean-and-simple layout, adding only a lovely lace strip, some fussy-cut roses (from the Yesterday paper pack) some handmade flowers and leafy accents to the beautiful paper.

The leaves were made using Heartfelt Creations leafy accents stamps, dies and shaping mould.

I am entering this layout to the Lemoncraft - July challenge which requires leaves to be used on a project.

Trim one of the pretty papers from the Lavender Hills 6x6 paper pack to 14,5x14,5cm and adhere to the card base.
Adhere a piece of lace to the card base.

Cut a strip of paper into a Flag shape and adhere on top of the lace.

Attach a light clay frame.

Attach a piece of gauze, a cut-out butterfly, a cut-out lavender bunch from the paper pack, two paper flowers and some Fantasy die-cut twigs to the card.

Add a small light clay bird.
Add a bunch of beaded stamens to look like a bunch of buds.

Tranquility with a promise of a new season

While watching the sun rise through my craft room window this morning, with reflections on the string of crystals a friend made for me for my last birthday, I was inspired to put together a pretty card conveying the message of a new day or new season - even in the midst of winter with the cold creeping up in our limbs in our sunny South Africa.

To make this quick card, I used three panels from the lovely cherry blossom retreat paper pack from Heartfelt Creations.

This pack has some amazingly beautiful papers.

The green background square went onto a card base of 14,5x14,5cm. Next I stuck down the panel with the birds. The third piece was fussy-cut so that I would have the garden for the foreground of the card.

I added a bunch of the cherry blossoms I had in my stash. I love making a whole bunch of flowers at a time and store different types in cellophane bags in three large plastic containers so that they are ready when I am inspired or need to make a special card for someone.

These cute little cherry blossoms were made using the stamps and co-ordinating dies, before being shaped in the special flower-shaping mould. A few stamens were added to the centres of the larger flowers and white prills completed the centres of the smaller flowers.

If you feel inspired by this post to create something pretty, please let me know by leaving a comment. And if you have any questions about this card or the products, please feel free to reach out and ask.

Have a wonderful day filled with love, hope and sunshine in your heart.

Pot full of pansies

I love using flowers on my cards, because they represent a bunch of flowers for love or friendship and my thoughts sent to the recipient.
Pansies are perfect to convey the message that you are thinking about a person. Their mame is derived from the French word meaning ‘thought’.
To make the pot, cut sturdy cardstock to 12x23cm. Working on the length, score at 9 cm and 18cm.
Fold over at the 9cm score. Die-cut a pretty border at the other end. One of the dies in the Die’Sire decorative edges set 2 was used for this card.
On the 9cm fold, mark 2cm from each end left and right. Align this mark with the fold at 18cm so that you cut away a wedge on each side to form the pot.
Glue or tape on inside of the two slanted sides to close the pot.

For the pull-out card for your message, layer a white or cream cardstock rectangle of 8,5x9,5cm onto darker cardstock of 9x12,5cm.
Arrange and glue down flowers onto the pot and onto the pull-put card, making sure you will be able to pull out the card.

I hope you enjoyed the short visit. Please leave a comment.
Have a great day
