Sending hugs

I needed a card for a crafting friend, to say "Hello" and send some light and warmth, so decided to make a layered die-cut card.
Cards with layered die-cuts are so special but are easy to make with the right die sets.
I started with a 15x15cm white card base, from a Fabscraps carders pack. the first layer was created by cutting white smooth cardstock 14,5x14,5cm and then cutting a square aperture from the centre, using the largest die from Crealis double-stitch square set.
The second square layer was created by using the second and third sizes (if counted from the largest to the smallest) of dies from the same Crealies set.
I then used the second and third largest dies from the Creative Expressions Millie set to cut the circular element.
The layered sentiment die is from the Creative Expressions mini sentiments collection. The range provides several mini sentiments for all kinds of messages for friends and family.
the card was completed by adding cheery pansies - some of my most favourites - from my stash of flowers, made with Heartfelt Creations stamp and die set. I love making a large batch of flowers and keeping them ready for when I need or want to make a card.

I am entering this card for the Double D February challenge, Hello February. I was inspired by the purple flowers in the mood board picture.

South African fauna and flora

I must be honest, this was not an easy layout for me, as I wanted to make the best use of this fabulous Wild & Free papers from Fabscraps, yet still use enough photos AND use the beautiful proteas - which go perfectly with the Big Five as they are all part of our fauna and flora heritage.
I used the rustic element of a piece of hessian to offset the flowers and I foiled two proteas, using a mesh stencil and rose gold foil.
Eventually, I am happy with the result.

Lilac teatime

My first card made using the Heartfelt Creations teatime collection.
I used the adorn it pocket die to create layers of lace as backdrop for the teapot, cup and pretty floral sprays. A few lush lilac blooms were added for extra interest and texture.
Infuse your time in the craft room with the fun and excitement of creating elegant teapot shaped card creations, perfect for celebrating all of life’s grandest occasions.
Decorating becomes quick and easy with a delightful selection of wonderful tea themed accessories, along with coordinating sentiments, allowing you to design and embellish fanciful and unique teatime-themed cards.
This collection will be arriving in our online store by the 11th, for release date of the 12th. You can also get the collection from Kanje Krafts or Scrapbook Haven.

Perfect moments single scrapbook page

When you have a variety of foamiran flowers ready in your stash, it is quick and easy to complete a layout.
I used mixed media embossing powder on the chipboard heart that peeks out behind the top right corner of the photo.
Foamiran and silk flowers have been in my stash for some time. The page was completed by adding leaves, gems tulle and twin.
This page is part of a bumper scrapbook kit, which can be bought in our online store https://www.purplemagnolia.co.za/products/perfect-moments-scrapbook-kit

Mixed media box in cool colours

It is so much fun to just let your creativity flow with mixed media products, where you can literally use anything as embellishments on your project.
I used a round box bought from a craft store and glued down all kinds of embellishments - metal cameo, pieces from very cheap dress jewellery (that no respected woman will ever wear), metal castings, plastic rose, etc. Then I applied gesso, acrylic paints, glimmer and shimmer sprays, glitter, mica flakes and waxes.
Happy crafting until next time.

Round window cards and pretty flowers

Who does not like looking through a window onto a beautiful garden, thinking about flowers?
Today I am sharing some cards made using the Heartfelt Creations round window dies and loads of hand-made flowers, mostly made using Heartfelt Creations flower stamps and dies.
Different shapes of card bases, co-ordinating with the round shapes, are available for easy card-making.

You will find the dies and other Heartfelt Creations products in our online store www.purpkemagnolia.co.za/collections/heartfelt-creations, or ask for them at Kanje Krafts & Kreations (Cape Twon), Celindy Scrappers (Centurion, Pretoria) or Scrapbook Haven (Mossel Bay).
