Pastel poppies

Poppies in themselves have a beautiful texture with their ruffled petals and these Heartfelt Creations blazing poppies are beautiful.
On this card, texture was enhanced by using an Anna Griffin "Poppy" embossing folder for the background and by using several layers of the Creative Expressions die set, Fiji.
Poppies were made using Heartfelt Creations Blazing poppies stamp and die set. I stamped the flowers with Ranger archival ink in Rose Madder and coloured them with the Rose Madder, Versamagic Pixie Dust and Spun Sugar distress inks.
The poppies can be shaped beautifully by using the Basics flower mould, but I shaped these by hand. The stamens were die-cut on black, using the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms dies.
The Creative Expressions Maidenhair fern dies create leaves that are perfect for any poppies or daisies.

STEPS:
1. Stamp flowers using Sweet peony small stamp set and Ranger archival ink in Vibrant fuchsia. I stamped the set twice to make several flowers and select how many I wanted to use.
2. Colour the flowers along the edges using the vibrant fuchsia ink and a dauber or an eyeshadow applicator - I find the eyeshadow applicator allows me more control. Cut the flowers out, using the matching dies. Lightly colour the petals around the edges at the back.

Arrange a few flowers in the basics flower mould, face down (that is, the stamped image facing down). Spritz very lightly with water. Don't use too much water, as your flowers will tear. Lay another layer of petals on the first (you can shape two flowers in very opening at a time). Again spritz lightly. Close the mould and roll thorugh your die-cutting mahine, using the stack as indicated for your machine.

Remove the petals from the mould. Lay them down on your flower-shaping mat and use a flower-shaping ball tool to press down in the centre of every flower. The Heartfelt Creations set has lovely variety of sizes of stylus/ball tools and the shaping mat.

Set aside in a tray and allow to dry properly.

Stamp and die cut some leaves. I used the leaves from Flowering dogwood, Ranger archival ink in olive and loosely coloured the leaves using Distress oxide ink in citrus.
Prepare the card base. I used 240gsm white cardstock, scored, folded and trimmed to make a card 14,5x14,5cm.
Trim and adhere printed paper to 14,5x14,5cm. I used a piece with pretty swirls from the Classic petunia paper collection.
Die cut the word "HUGS", using the Altenew alphabet set of dies. Again, I used paper from the Classic petunia collection.
Stamp a butterfly on vellum, using the same ink as for flowers. I used one of the stamps from the Fluttering butterfly set and trimmed to use only one of the butterflies. Colour lightly at the back with green ink.
Assemble flowers. For the large flowers, I used 3 of the largest flowers for each flower. For the medium and small flowers, I used 2 layers for each flower. Finish the flowers by adding a small amount of clear drying ink (such as Art Glitter) and some beads or prills in brown.
Arrange and adhere letters, flowers and butterfly to your card base.
Fnish the inside of the card with a strip of printed paper and a stamped butterfly.
i hope you enjoyed this tutorial and will find it useful for making pretty cards, plese DO leave me a comment.
Hugs to you.

Floral striped gift bag

Cut a printed scrapbook sheet into two pieces of 30x15cm. Trim them down to 27cm long.
Score each piece at 20cm and 26 cm. Fold on the scores, with the printed side you would like on the outside.

Cut firm cardstock 24x10cm. Score as indicted on the photo and trim away small wedges from 4 corners. Then fold the scored sides and adhere in the corners to make a "box" as the base for the gift bag.

Adhere the two pieces of printed paper to each other (use the 1cm scored edges for overlaps on the inside) and adhere this long strip aound the base of the bag.

Die cut a decorative element and adhere to the front of the gift bag.

Cut two narrow strips of paper from the same printed paper - or co-ordinating paper - and adhere the ends on the top inside of the bag for handles.

Decorate the bag with handmade flowers. I used Heartfelt Creations Flowering dogwood blooms from my stash.

Lavender, lilac and lace

The sweet peony stamp and die sets from Heartfelt Creations are so pretty and versatile in any colour.
For this card, I stamped the peonies in deep purple archival ink, then dabbed on colour on the edges of the petals first with the deep purple and then with Versamagic in pretty petunia. After die-cutting with the matching dies, I shaped the flowers with ball tools.
The background was cut from a page in the Heartfelt Creations lush lilac paper collection. I love the dimension and interest that the printed paper and lacy edge die add. The white lacy layer was cut from heavy shimmer cardstock, using another die from the intricate swirls frames die set.

Patchwork daisies in vellum

Patchwork designs have a nostalgic feel, making us rfememner the days when our mothers or grannnies made our dresses.
I wanted to add an extra dimension by using the Heartfelt Creations patchwork daisy collection on vellum.

The steps for making this card:
1. Apply anti-static powder to the vellum. Stamp the vellum with Versamark ink and sprinkle with white embossing powder. Set with a heat gun. (Stamp 2 sets of the daisy border)
stamped
 2. Die-cut the embossed and coloured images.

3. Colour the daisy borders at the back of the embossed vellum with markers. For contrast on the card, do  not colour the small flower images.

4.Cut a square of 14,5 cm form one of the papers in the paper pack. adhere to a card base (14,4cm square). cut another square, 13cm. adhere on top of the first square.
5. Cut one of the narrow eyelet borders from cardstock. Adhere to the back of the large image. adhere the vellum piece to the layered card base, using vellum adhesive. Trim away any overhanging edges on teh sides.

 6. Fussy cut one set of the daisies. Pinch the ends of the daisy petals for a bit of dimension.  Adhere these flowers on top of the daisy border on the layered card base.

7. Break the smaller embossed images into various pieces and arrange around the daisies. finish with raindrops for centres, or pearls.

Vellum flowering dogwood blooms and lacy diamonds

Most of my cards  have a floral theme. Actually, it seems as if flowers form the golden thread through my hobbies and crafting over decades - first flower arrangements for weddings and functions. Later making flowers from plastic icing for wedding cakes while we had bakery. Recently I added paper flowers and foamiran flowers to my crafting repertoire.
The Heartfelt Creations flowering dogwood blooms is one of my favourite flower collections.
For this card, I stamped the flowers on vellum with Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder, before using the co-ordinating dies to cut out the flowers. I then used a dauber ank pink grapefruit ink from Versamark to colour the flowers at the back. I left the little leaves white.
The paper for the background is from the Heartfelt Creations Butterfly Dreams collection, adhered to a white card base.
I used the Lacy Diamond and Eyelet Diamond dies as backdrop for the flowers.
